COLUMBUS TRAILS AND GREENWAYS
THE BLACKLICK TRAIL
THREE CREEKS, OBETZ, GROVEPORT

The Blacklick Trail is growing northward. It currently consists of two sections. The southern section runs from Mile 0 in Three Creeks Metropark north to a turnaround near SR 33 with an extension under construction. The other completed section is also under construction near Winchester Parkway and runs north east to Portman Park where it dead-ends but also has a spur trail which runs south the Pickerington Ponds Metro park. The sections building east from Three Creeks and west from Portman will eventually connect over SR 33.

DETOUR INFORMATION: SUMMER 2007

There are several construction projects occurring through the summer. Some of these include closures and detours. For detailed information on current conditions, go to Detours and Updates

There is much to report on the Blacklick. Plans are proceeding to link the two sections of trail that currently exist. Funding has been obtained for building a bridge over US33 and plans are in place to relocate a short stretch of Shannon Rd. in order to extend the eastern section of trail from its recently completed section at Shannon Rd near Winchester Pike under the latter and along Ebright to US33. Once over US33, it will link with the western section which ends in a loop (shown above) at the border of Three Creeks Metropark.

At the eastern end, there are plans to extend the trail north from Portman Park to connect with the trails in Blacklick Woods Metro Park as well.
